Top theatre school The JPA Academy is coming to Maidstone…and is giving away a scholarship to one talented child!Adam_Flint

West End performers Howard and Vanessa Jones, who head up The JPA Academy, are giving away a term’s scholarship to their new Maidstone theatre school, plus a place on a top children’s talent agency.

“Maidstone has welcomed the academy with open arms,” said Vanessa. “We felt very strongly that we wanted to give something back to the community, and what better way than to offer this opportunity to one lucky child?”

The JPA Academy is launching this Friday 26th February, at YMCA Maidstone with a free taster session from 4.30pm-7.30pm. It will give children and parents a chance to see what the academy is all about, in a fun and safe environment.acting_banner

“Our teachers all have experience as performers in West End shows, TV and film,” said Howard. “So we know our students are getting the best training. But alongside that, we try to build every child’s confidence, creativity and their ability to work with others — skills which are so important for life, and which sometimes get missed at school, especially with so much emphasis on core subjects these days.”

On Friday there will be talent scouts from top children’s agency Happy Feet Management watching the session, who will help Howard and Vanessa choose the lucky recipient. Many students from The JPA Academy have gained parts in West End shows, TV, film and commercials through their affiliation with Happy Feet.
