16-18 Year Olds
We are very proud to offer training, help and advice for those who are thinking about the next stage of their performing journey. Students who have moved up through The JPA Academy and who are considering further study in the Performing Arts are invited to join The JPA Company.
This session is designed to delve deeper into the potential professional performer. If you are studying the Performing Arts for A level or BTEC, if you are thinking of moving on to train for the business, then these sessions are an invaluable tool.
We work with challenging themes and texts, gain experience with camerawork and find solo voice.
The JPA Company students have a very important role in our Summer Production. The Company take on and perform amazing work. The Company also produce an evening of performance at Christmas, separate to the main Academy. Whether it is an evening cabaret, a play or a musical, each member of The Company works closely with our tutors to hone their skills.
Places are limited and by invitation/audition. Responding to students’ requests, we create a programme that helps with studies and the skills needed for successful college auditions. The Company are role models for our younger students, and they gain precious experience from tutors with the specialisms to guide them.
Previous students of The JPA Company are now studying hard at top London Colleges including London Studio Centre, The Brit School, Guildford School of Acting, Emil Dale, Arts Ed, Mountview and Bird College.
To audition for The Company, you will need to prepare a Shakespeare monologue, a musical theatre song written pre 1960, and a modern/contemporary musical theatre song.
